Londoners wake up to the sound of music emanating from the skies, as seven hot air balloons projecting sweet melodies soar above the capital, heralding a year to go to the 2012 Games.

Sky Orchestra delivers music to sleeping people from out of the sky. Created by artist Luke Jerram with composition from Dan Jones, the balloons will take off at dawn and dusk with speakers attached, creating a massive audio landscape. The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has teamed up with London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT) to bring the project to the city between 22 - 27 July 2011.

"Chicago nanny Vivian Maier died in 2009, leaving behind 100,000 negatives that no one but she had ever seen. Her work was discovered by chance, and now the photographs she took on her days off are being hailed as 'ranking up there' with the best in 20th-century street photography."
Hermione Hoby, the Guardian

A team of hardworking volunteers help install the Vivian Maier show at the German Gymnasium, London, July 2011.

On Tuesday 21 June 2011 six photographers were assigned different areas of the City to photograph. Some used tripods, some went hand held, one set up a 5 x 4.

All were instructed to keep to public land and photograph the area as they would on a normal day. The event aimed to test the policing of public and private space by private security firms and their reaction to photographers.

All six photographers were stopped on at least one occasion. Three encounters led to police action.

This is what happened..
